Chayote (chow chow) Oats Paratha

Is there anyone like me who doesn't like to make the same dish over and over again with same vegetable? Then he is one another option for using up chayote or chow chow. Usually chow chow is used in kootu /aviyal / mor kozhambu. At least that's where i will end-up using. Please let me know if there are anymore options.
But one day we had nothing but chayote in our fridge and half an onion. We did not want to have rice for dinner. Hence this paratha. We were surprised with the end results. Try this and you will be too :)

It is super healthy and super easy to make. I love making parathas just for that reason. Yes! I admit, I'm lazy :)

Serves - 6-8 parathas (depends on the size) 
Preparation time - 10 mins 
Cooking time - 20 mins 

Ingredients


Cho cho - 1 small (grated)
Onion - 1/2 cup finely chopped
Oats - 1 cup
Whole wheat flour -1/2 cup + for dusting
Rice flour - 1/2 cup
Red chilli powder - 2 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Coriander powder - 2 tsp
Turmeric powder - a generous pinch Salt - to taste Oil for making paratha 

Direction

Mix all the ingredients together and form a pliable dough.

Pinch a dalop of dough and roll it on a sheet. Use enough flour for dusting and make sure its neither sticking to the sheet nor to the rolling pin. Because of the oats the dough tends to be glutinous. Make yummy parathas and serve hot. It will taste yum even with simple tomato garlic chutney and raita.

Note
1. I did not use water to make the Dough. Cho chow by nature has more water content. So be careful while making the dough.
2. Letting the dough rest on counter for a long time makes the it sticky. Either use flour or oil to keep hands from sticking to the dough.
